Morse code decoder FAQ
- How do I convert Morse code to text?
- Type or paste the dots and dashes into the Morse code box, with a space after each letter and a slash (/) between words. The text appears right next to it.
- What if my Morse code has no spaces?
- Without gaps the code is ambiguous: the same string of dots and dashes can read as several letter combinations. Add a space after each letter first; if you only have the raw signal, split it at the longer gaps (a letter gap is three dots long, a word gap seven).
- Can I decode a sound or a flashing light?
- This decoder reads written code. Listen or watch for short and long signals — a dash lasts three times as long as a dot — write them down as . and -, and paste them here.
